Obituary of Darlene Claudette Brownlee

Darlene Claudette Brownlee (Née Graling) February 16, 1943 – January 9, 2022 It is with immeasurable heartbreak that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, and sister Darlene Claudette Brownlee at the age of 78 years at the Whitecourt Healthcare Centre. Darlene was a loving mother and wife first and foremost. She loved spending time with her family and cherished every moment. She loved making quilts for many of her friends, family and employees. Watching all that her family has accomplished brought her great pride. Darlene lived a wonderful life and accomplished many great things as an owner of Slave Lake and Whitecourt Communications. Darlene will be lovingly remembered by her husband Bill Brownlee of 54 years, children Terry (Berna) Graling, Curtis (Yomi) Brownlee and Scott (Danielle) Brownlee, grandchildren Brittany, Jenesse, William, Jace and Harper, great-grandson Porter, siblings Butch (Noni) Graling, Billy (Holly) Graling, Vern (Yvonne) Graling, Vivian (Rob) Dahms and Jackie Beauchamp as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents John and Gertrude Graling, sister Glenda Morton as well as brother-in-law Terry Beauchamp. Cremation has taken place and a service date will be announced in the spring. Darlene’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Halladay, nurses and staff at the Whitecourt Hospital for all the care and compassion that has been demonstrated to the family.
