We are so sorry to hear of Darlene's passing, and mourn with all of the family. We met Darlene and Bill in 1972 in High Level and have been lifelong friends; though separated by distance many years our love and appreciation for them has been a constant in our lives. I remember the joy of fishing trips back then, the joy of having young and excited children zooming around High Level on trikes and bikes, many wonderful potlucks and visits, that sustained all of us in those times. And Darlene was always there, often the gracious host, with her ready smile, encouraging words, wisdom and energy that inspired us to keep going forward, no matter the circumstances. In 2008 we were able to spend a week with Darlene and Bill in Haida Gwaii and again it was an amazing memorable time for us, as Darlene, ever the gracious and hospitable host, shared her family, friends and home with us, She provided the feasts, the tours of the island, shared the history and arts, and people of the island, and as the fellows fished, thanks to Bill's gifts of time and talents, we spent many hours walking the beaches looking for her favorite rocks and shells. A loving, generous, wise and faithful woman we were so blessed to know and call a friend. Our hearts are with all of you as her family, and thank you in sharing your lives with us also. We mourn with you and pray for peace for you.
