Obituary of Darlene Priscilla Seely

Darlene Priscilla Seely (Petersen) January 25, 1931 – September 08, 2021 It is with saddened hearts that the family of Darlene Seely announce her passing at the Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre on September 8, 2021, at the age of 90 years. There is comfort for the family in knowing that Darlene is now at rest from her health struggles, and their hearts are so grateful for a life so well lived. Darlene will be lovingly remembered by her children, Linda Couture (Louie), Diane McGinn (Dwayne), Allan Seely (Richelle) and Hal Seely (Carla). Darlene will also be treasured in the hearts of her 10 grandchildren, Darcy, Kelly, Troy, Carla, Travis, Brent, Kevin, Chance, Chelsea and Ashley. Darlene leaves 23 great grandchildren, along with numerous relatives and friends, to also remember and celebrate her life. Darlene was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Lewis Allan Seely. The family will always remember Darlene’s love for farming, especially raising sheep, and her devotion to the 55+ Senior Citizens Club of Drayton Valley, where she was such an active member. Darlene loved to participate in curling and floor curling, and even won silver in floor curling at the Alberta Seniors Summer Games. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the public celebration of Darlene’s life on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the Drayton Valley Legion at 1:00 pm has been CANCELLED. the family will instead have a private, for family only, Celebration of Darlene's life.
