Gilbert John Martin
October 30, 1937 – March 3, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gilbert Martin announce his passing on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the Drayton Valley Hospital, at the age of 84.
Gilbert will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Shirley; his children Jody (Lydia), Bud (Bonnie), Glen (Wendy) and Tricia (Trevor). Gilbert’s living legacy will also live on in his 16 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Gilbert was predeceased by his son, Rocky; his parents Thomas and Olga; brothers Donald, Allan, Earl, Jim and sisters Anna, Muriel and Nelda.
The family will always remember the special moments that are now memories on hunting and fishing trips and time spent sitting around a campfire.
A celebration of Gilbert’s life will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the Lindale Community Hall, Lindale, Alberta. Gilbert’s interment will take place following the service at Berrymoor Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Alberta Alzheimer Society, #306, 10430 61 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T6H 2J3.
