Shirley and Families. We were saddened to hear of the passing of Gilbert. May the memories of all the good times you have shared help to bring you peace and comfort during the difficult days to come. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

My condolences to Shirley and the family, I will never forget the many times he visited our house in Wanyandie Flats, we even named a section “Gilberts Camp” since he came hunting so many times over the years. My favourite memory of him is when we joined his family to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary and I asked him how old he was when he got married and he shouted out above the crowd 12. Always a joker and a honest to God legend, he will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

My condolences to the Martin family and all who loved him. I was at the receiving end of much of his light-hearted teasing as a young girl and remember him very fondly.
