Obituary of Rose Marie Batke

Rose Marie Batke (Swanson) June 13, 1933 – January 26, 2022 It is with hearts filled with sadness but also gratitude for a life well lived, that the family of Rose Batke announce her peaceful passing on January 26, 2022, in Drayton Valley Long Term Care, at the age of 88 years. Rose is survived by her four children, Shirley Mahan (Shawn), Judy Hutzal (Bob), Rob Huber (Olga) and Lynda Huber (Adrian). She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Coby Mahan (Paula), Cory Mahan (Wanita), Michael Smith (Racheal) and Peter Smith, along with her great grandchildren, Alicia, Brooke, Hannah, Adam and Elliott. Rose was predeceased by her special friend Wally Kurtz and her husbands Harold Batke and Robert Huber. The family will always remember her love for travel and adventure and her love for knitting and crocheting. But their deepest memories will be of her passion for her family and friends. Rose had a gift for hospitality, and her open home reflected her open heart for all who entered. Rose’s love for telling jokes and sharing a story, combined with her sharp whit, have provided the family with treasured moments that are now rich memories. She touched many lives and will never be forgotten by her family and her friends. She lived and loved well. The family wish to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Drayton Valley Long Term Care, for their consistent and kind care of Rose throughout her journey there.
