I had the pleasure of getting to know Ross as a school mate and good friend in his early years. He was a bright, kind and compassionate lad with a very sharp wit and an awesome sense of humour; I'd say he was the Class of 77's best replica of Chevy Chase. Ross's smile, and laugh, usually disarmed any situation we got ourselves into, and we needed that a lot back then! :). He tutored me on the right way to survive working in the oil patch when we did a stint together in Texas in the mid-80's; it was so cool to see another side of a school pal in the real world. We drifted apart but years later I was an observing benefactor to one of his other passions, that being photography. I got to see him again through his work, as he brought out his best traits as I remember them: empathy and kindness; love of nature and the simple things in life; intellect and insight; vision, attention to detail and positive appreciation beyond the obvious. For his family, especially Kelly and Claire who I also knew back then, please accept my most sincere condolences and know that those of us who knew him, loved and admired him. We'll be sure to toast him at our school reunion this summer.
Best wishes with your journey of healing.

What a shock to learn about Ross's passing! He certainly loved his photography and was a gifted photographer. We were fortunate enough to have bought one of his canvas prints. We love it and now will always think of him when we look at it. Our condolences to his twins Cole and Cody and their young families, brother Kelly/Karen Haskell and his sister Claire/Brian Sather. Our thoughts are with you during this Christmas season.

To say that Ross will be missed is an understatement and our deepest condolences to the Haskell Family. Ross spent an incredible amount of time with our family and friends at the lake and would often stay out on his own taking night footage of the stars. Over the years he gifted our family several beautiful photographs, although there is one particular photograph that we will treasure forever. For this we are so very grateful in his ability capture the very essence of life. Ross will be deeply missed and will remain forever in our hearts. May he always be that twinkle in the night sky, Carmell,

To the man with the smirk, the chuckle, the wise crack and to the man with the soft heart…. You will be missed my friend.
