Obituary of Mary Pauline Lauer

Goodbyes are not forever, they are not the end, It simply means we’ll miss you, until we meet again. It is with heavy hearts that our family announce the passing of our Mom, Mary Pauline Lauer. Mary spent the majority of her life in and around the Drayton Valley area where she enjoyed farm life with her husband Ed and her children. She will forever be missed by her children, Eileen (Jim) Garman, Lorraine (Darrel) Haggerty, Floyd (Vivian) Lauer, Edward Jr. (Diane) Lauer, Melvin Lauer, Arlene (Curtis) Krueger, and son-in-law Ron Martens, Also mourning her loss, are her siblings; Rod Johnstone, Richard Johnstone and Jean Wagner, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Ed, her parents John Parry and Dorothy Nichols, her brothers; Arthur Parry, and Jim Johnstone, her son Roy Schotts, her daughter, Edwina (Tyke) Martens, and son-in-law Jim Haggerty. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Life Church on November 6, 2021, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Randy Rye officiating. As COVID regulations must be adhered to, all attendees must provide proof of full vaccination or recent negative COVID test and wear a mask while moving about. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Drayton Valley Continuing Care for their dedication to Mary’s care.
