Irene Irma Zimmerman (Cornelssen)
August 8, 1949 – September 29, 2021
After a long battle with cancer, the family of Irene Zimmerman are saddened to announce her passing in Rimbey, Alberta, on September 29 at the age of 72 years.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Robert Zimmerman; her children, Darren (Sandra) Zimmerman, Angela (Jaron) Higgens, David (Jeannie) Zimmerman; her grandchildren Shayne, Grayden (Libby), Taylor (Kere), Rhett and Amber, along with great grandchild, Scarlett. Also left to remember Irene are her brothers and sisters, Lee (Ethel), Larry (Fatima), Betty (Neil), Bob (Elaine) Walter, Carl (Geri), Marjorie (Bill) and Fred (Patti). Irene was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Irma Cornelssen; foster-son Derek Zimmerman and sister-in-law Nancy-Ann.
A private interment will take place October 8, 2021, at the Erskine Cemetery, in Erskine, Alberta.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute for their kind and compassionate care and support of Irene and the family throughout her cancer journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Erskine Cemetery, P.O. Box 408, Erskine, Alberta T0C.
