Obituary of James Oliver Streit

James (Jim) Streit December 17, 1929 – September 29, 2021 It is with saddened hearts that the family of James Streit announce his passing at the Drayton Valley Hospital, Drayton Valley, Alberta, on September 29, 2021, at the age of 91 years. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his children, Sharron (James) Hunter, Brenda (Neil) Samis, Valerie (Brian)Gathercole; his grandchildren, Chad (Sarah), Cory (Pam), Clint (Shannon), Courtenay (Michael), Rebecca (Anthony), Trevor (Arienne), Brent (Samantha), Amanda and Sandra(Archie) and his great grandchildren, Sophie, Cole, Chloe, Carlie, Chelsea, Kayden, Lynden, Christina, Brody, Liam, Lucas, Gabriel, Alese, Benz, Nixie and Mikayla, along with his brother Tom Streit (Carol) and sister Betty Kobi (Edwin). Jim was predeceased by his wife Ethel; parents, Emma and Oliver; siblings Robert, Shirley and Oliver “Skippy” as well as grandchild Cory and great grandchild, Christina. Jim was a proud and active member of the 55+ Senior’s Centre and the Masons in Drayton Valley. The family has great memories of the joy and fun Jim found as an avid card player, a lifetime member at the Drayton Valley Golf Club and as a curler. A private family celebration of Jim’s life will take place on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Affinity Chapel, 5001 45 Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta.
