Obituary of Gayle Leeann Landers

Gayle Leeann Landers December 10, 1947 - September 22, 2021 Gayle passed away on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at the Drayton Valley Continuing Care. Gayle was born in Vernon, BC to Kenneth Ross and Evelyn Colleen Sproule. She was the middle of three children, older brother Wayne and younger brother Gary. They grew up in Vernon and Pigeon Lake before moving to Drayton Valley where she finished school. In 1965 she married Robert James. They had four boys, Robert, Neil, Aaron and Jeff and fostered MANY children before adopting Rose Amy. Gayle, Bob and family enjoyed camping, bible studies and playing cards with the Hines' Kennedy's, Landers' and Beckett's. Gayle and Bob got divorced in 1997. Gayle worked for Intercon messaging in Drayton Valley as a 911 operator and when she moved to Edmonton she worked for Alberta Motor Association until she retired in 2008. At that time she moved back to Drayton Valley to be near her boys, their families and her nine grandchildren, that meant the world to her. Gayle will be sadly missed by all who knew her and lovingly remembered by her sons, Rob (Jen), Neil (Rosaura), Aaron (Tracey), Jeff (Regan); her grandchildren Arielle, Liam, Payton, Jadyn, Damon, Ethan, Josh, Sarah and Treston, along with two great grandchildren, Emerson and Hudson. She was predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Colleen, brother Wayne and her daughter Amy. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 1:00 pm at the Valley Worship Assembly.
