Obituary of Donald Prideaux

Francis “Donald” St. John Prideaux February 15, 1925 – August 10, 2021 It brings us sadness to announce the passing of Don Prideaux at Drayton Valley Long Term Care, on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at the age of 96 years. Born in Hayle, England, Don moved to Ontario in 1968 spending time in Waterloo and Woodstock. He had passion for contributing to society and displayed this passion through volunteering in the community and served as an elder of his church for over 30 years. He lived a life of adventure even serving in WWII. A man of many words, Don was a poet and could see the beauty in all things. Don also had a great sense of humor and kept people laughing wherever he went. He not only had the gift of poetry, but was a musician as well as he loved to play music. He played a vast array of instruments, including drums, piano, organ, and the saxophone. His love of story telling and his will to share wisdom and advice will be missed but never forgotten. He is survived by his loving daughter, Lyndara (Ernie) Cowper-Smith; four Grandchildren, Corey (Jeneile) Peebles, Sarah (Adam) Ferey, Jeremy (Justina) Cowper-Smith, Mandy (Bob) Magumba, seven Great Grandchildren; Ezra, Cooper, Clark, Isabella, Cadence, Natalie-Rose and Michael; and numerous friends. He is predeceased by his parents and wife, Phyl in 2011. The family would like to thank Pastor Randy and Life Church for their love and support.
