Obituary of Cecil David Koethler

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of Cecil Koethler in Drayton Valley, Alberta on August 6, 2021 at the age of 76 years. Cec had a love for the outdoor adventures, especially enjoying winters in Arizona with Sharon and his extended snowbird family, and playing golf. Over the decades, his passion for coaching baseball and hockey formed lasting friendships with players, often into the second generation. He also enjoyed backyard barbecues, travelling, and pulling his kids behind the boat, but his greatest love was his family – especially his grandchildren. Cec will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Sharon Koethler; their two children, Krysta Moore (Allan) and Bob Koethler (Natalie); grandchildren Nolan Koethler, Schiehallion Moore, Casey Koethler, Quinn Moore, and Morgan Koethler. Cec was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Eva Koethler, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his niece Kim Koethler. Please join Cec's family to celebrate his life through the sharing of your stories and memories at the MacKenzie Centre on August 16th at 2:00. Cec's family would like to thank the Doctors and staff who assisted with Cec's care at the Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre.
