Bernhard Manfred Sorge
January 7, 1938 - July 27, 2021
It is with sorrowful hearts that the family of Bernhard Sorge announce his passing on July 27, 2021, at the Drayton Valley Long-term Care Centre, at the age of 83.
Bernie will be lovingly remembered by daughter Lee-Ann Sorge and grandson Nicholas Sorge. Bernie is also survived by his sister Rose (Waldi) Wischnewski and brother Gunter Sorge, and nephews Conrad and Curt Wischnewski and Jochen Sorge along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born in Germany, Bernie immigrated to Canada in 1963 where he opened many restaurants. He had a passion for food and working in the food industry.
A service will take place on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Affinity Funeral Service, Drayton Valley, Alberta at 11:00 am MDT with livestream via Zoom available.
His family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Drayton Valley Hospital and Long-term Care Centre for the compassion and care provided. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made directly to: Drayton Valley Health Foundation – Long Term Care, 4550 Madsen Ave., Drayton Valley, Alberta T7A 1N8.
