Obituary of Darlene Edla Horst

Darlene Edla Horst (Ahlskog) October 7, 1942 – July 8, 2021 It is with hearts filled with sadness but warm memories, that the family of Darlene Horst announce her passing on July 8, 2021, at Drayton Valley Hospital, at the age of 78. Leaving to cherish the moments that have now become memories are Darlene’s children, Gordon (Valarie) Horst, Cindy (John) Tymchuk, Randal (Linda) Horst, Christine (Ryan) Wells and Treena (Jason) Pitruniak; her grandchildren Shaun (Kristen) Wakefield, Clinton (Katie) Wakefield, Dylan Wells, Eric Wells, Jazmin Pitruniak, Jacob Horst and Kaden Pitruniak, along with her great grandchildren, Lucas, Austin, Kaius and Makena. Darlene will also be lovingly remembered by her sister Sharon (Elmer) Stafford of Prince George B.C., along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Darlene was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Cecil, and her parents, Erik and Doris Ahlskog, Darlene had such a passion for the major Alberta sports teams, including the Frank Maddock Warriors! She also loved to nurture and tend to her flowers, but her greatest passion and love in her life was always her family. Family, who will always remember her devoted acts of kindness and service. A private family graveside service will take place on Friday, July 23, 2021, at Evansburg Cemetery, at 2:00 pm. Darlene’s family would like to thank Dr. Anthony Froud and the Healthcare staff at both the Drayton Valley Hospital and the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton for such kind and compassionate care of her.
