Obituary of Donna Irene Astill

Donna Irene Astill January 12, 1955 – May 19, 2021 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Donna Astill at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre during the very early hours of Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the age of 66 years. Donna was born at Barrhead, Alberta to parents, Wilfred and Audrey Farrants and grew up amongst five siblings. On March 18, 1972, Donna married Wayne, and together, they raised their two children. Donna truly enjoyed travelling to sunny destinations, the time she spent on the golf course, and camping with friends, but her greatest joy was the time she spent with Wayne and her family. She was a proud gramma and loved every moment spent with her boys. Donna will forever be lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 50 years, Wayne; son, Michael (Maria) Astill and daughter, Amber Astill; grandsons, Colby, Wilfred, Mathew, Xander and Soren; siblings, Allen Farrants, Gail Chenier, Ken (Ann) Farrants, Chris (Kat) Farrants and Darlene Grauman (Dan Wilkins); numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, in-laws and special friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Audrey and Wilfred. As a gesture of appreciation for the care provided to Donna during her stay at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre, her family would appreciate that any memorial contributions made in her name be made directly to Drayton Valley Health Foundation’s Palliative Care Campaign. Donna’s family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Botes of Claro Family Practice and Tanya Hines of the Drayton Valley Cancer Clinic for their great care throughout Donna’s illness.
