Obituary of Lillian Estelle McLeish

Lillian Estelle McLeish May 10, 1931 – April 14, 2021 It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lillian McLeish announce her passing in Breton, Alberta on the evening of Wednesday, April 14, 2021. While her passing brings sadness, the memories of her life bring comfort as the family celebrates the gift of her huge heart and hospitable spirit . Lillian’s love for knitting, crocheting, Bingo and playing the slots, (including trips to Vegas with Heather), help to capture her creative and fun-loving side, but the real essence of her heart and character were reflected in her caring and nurturing nature. Lillian was always very accepting and open to others, with her greatest love being for her children and grandchildren. Left to celebrate and remember the moments shared with Lillian are her three children, Ian, Brenda (Todd) and Heather (Rheinhold); three grandchildren, Patrick, Nikki (Curtis) and Steven along with two great grandchildren, Farren and Kaleb. Lillian will also be lovingly remembered by her three siblings, Gerald, Jean and Gordon as well as numerous extended family and friends. Lillian was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, John McLeish; infant daughter Bonnie; parents Roy and Kathleen Lawrence; sisters Mabel and Jessie and brother Raymond. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date. The family is so very grateful to all the staff at the Breton Continuing Care Centre who took such gracious and kind care of Lillian during her time there. It is with hearts filled with gratitude that the family would ask that in lieu of flowers or cards, please kindly consider a donation to the Breton Continuing Care Centre at 4919 49 Avenue, Breton Alberta, T0C 0P0. Any donations will go towards the memorial tree planting and patio renovation projects. These projects will honor Lillian's memory by enhancing the stay of the seniors, and visitors, at the Breton Continuing Care Centre.
