Obituary of Sidney Wayne Gustavson

Sidney Wayne Gustavson September 21, 1947 – April 13, 2021 We are incredibly heartbroken to announce the unexpected passing of a remarkable dad and grandpa. Sidney Wayne Gustavson, long time resident of Drayton Valley, passed away suddenly on the evening of Tuesday, April 13, 2021. After many years of working “the patch” in just about every position out there, Sid completed his career as a consultant with Northview Oilfield Supervision, a company that he was proud to own and operate. His hard work and dedication afforded him many opportunities, but most valuable was the care he was able to provide for his family and the many life-long friendships he made along the way. Throughout the years, Sid enjoyed many vacations throughout Mexico. The countless adventures he experienced would have not been nearly as amazing without the company of those he loved the most; as he was usually accompanied by his children and grandchildren. Above all, Sid’s greatest love was that of his family and the time he spent with them. Sid will forever be lovingly remembered by his children, Randie (Darren) Kwiatkowsky, Darryl (Krista) Gustavson and Jordan Gustavson; grandchildren, Sean, Leigha (Kyle), Victoria (Barry), Alicia (Terry), Thomas (Marleigh) and Joel; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Gregory, Amelia, Charlotte and Hazel. As young children, Adam and Ashton LePage entered Sid’s life for a short while and will always hold a special place in Sid’s heart. He will also be missed by numerous extended family and friends. After 27 long years, he is now reunited with his wife, Twila. A Private Family Graveside Service was held at Riverview Cemetery on the afternoon of Saturday, April 17, 2021. Sid’s children and their families would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Joel Giddey, the entire nursing staff, ambulance staff and all support staff at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre for their tireless efforts and beautiful compassion. We are also grateful to all who have come alongside our family during this most difficult time – your support has been greatly appreciated.
