Obituary of Gordon Scott Davidson

Gordon Scott Davidson July 29, 1940 – March 29, 2021 It is with saddened hearts that the family of Gordon Scott Davidson announce his passing at Drayton Valley, on Monday, March 29, 2021, at the age of 80 years. Gordon will always be in the hearts and memories of his two children, Scott (Shirley) and Tracy. Gordon’s legacy lives on with his grandchildren, Daisy (Jeff), Heather (Tom), Tyler and Aesha, along with his two great-grandchildren, Scotlyn and Halle, who will forever cherish their grandpa. Also left to treasure his memory is Gordon’s brother, Wes (Sylvia); daughter-in-law Rhonda; brothers-in-law Elmer Dahlgren, Kelvin Dahlgren, Gordon Bridgeman and sister-in-law Jeannette Young (Graham). Gordon was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Josephine, known affectionately as Josie; his parents, Lewis and Ethel Davidson; brothers Allan, Wallace, Dale; sister Mabel Bridgeman; father and mother in-law Edwin and Helen Dahlgren and brother-in-law Alfred Dahlgren. The family find comfort in knowing the storms of this life have passed for Gordon, and that his faith is now sight. Reunited with Josie, the two are once again tearing up the dance floor. It is with thankful hearts that the family wish to express their gratitude to the Staff at Serenity House; the doctors and nurses at the Drayton Valley Hospital and a special thank you to Barry Harrison, who was a loyal friend to Gordon and frequently took Gordon to the Omniplex to walk the track, and often for coffee. A private service will take place at the Chapel of Affinity Funeral Service, 5137 50 Ave, Drayton Valley, Alberta, on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Dwayne Henley officiating. Internment will follow at Rocky Rapids Cemetery. Prior to the service, a visitation for those wishing to pay their respects to Gordon will be held from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. In order to accommodate Covid-19 restrictions and those who are unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed.
