Obituary of Gloria Judy Hamelin

Gloria Judy Hamelin (neé Burt) September 20, 1962 – April 19, 2021 It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Gloria Hamelin at the University of Alberta Hospital on Monday, April 19, 2021 at the age of 58 years. She is now walking hand in hand with her precious Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Gloria’s life was a testament to her incredible faith in Jesus; she was kind, generous and always found the good in people. She loved children and loved her family. She will forever be lovingly remembered by her husband and friend, Lawrence Hamelin; sons, Joseph (Julie) Primeau, Andrew Primeau, David Primeau, Lynden Hamelin and Michael Hamelin; the apple of her eye, granddaughter Gennalyn; siblings, David (Sherry) Burt, Bradford (Sabine) Burt, Rick (Elizabeth) Burt, Mottie (Perry) Gillard and Peter (Lynn) Burt; father-in-law, Alvin Kuly; brothers-in-law, Roland (Stephanie) Hamelin, Harold Hamelin and Allen (Karen) Hamelin, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Her presence will be greatly missed by her church family at Swan Hills Baptist Fellowship Church and by her friends and acquaintances in the community of Swan Hills. She is predeceased by her parents, Oliver and Mary Burt and her mother-in-law, Mary Kuly. Visitation will be held at Affinity Funeral Service’s Chapel, 4105 41 Avenue, Whitecourt, Alberta on Saturday, April 24, 2021 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. We ask that masks are worn, and that all Covid-19 health directives be respected. A private family service will be held at a later time. Gloria’s family wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire medical team at the University of Alberta Hospital’s ICU ward for their gentle care and compassion.
