Obituary of Larry Paul Martin

Larry Paul Martin August 16, 1951 – November 21, 2023 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Larry Paul Martin on Tuesday, November21, 2023 at 72 years. Larry enjoyed being outdoors, fly fishing was a favorite pass time and took a lot of landscape and nature photographs. He also liked to take his walks and ride his bike. He was good with his hands making a career in carpentry, building sky scrapers in Calgary, Alberta to retiring building decks. Larry was an intelligent man of few words; was very reserved, respectful and had a gentle soul. In 2023, He relocated to Drayton Valley from Okotoks at the request of his daughter and son in law, bringing him closer to his grandchildren. Giving him a great quality of life. Larry pursued a long battle with Parkinson’s and being diagnosed very young he managed to live life to full potential. Larry will rest easy now, not to be forgotten. Being the oldest of 4 siblings he will be greatly missed by his brothers, Neil Martin, Gary Martin, Donald Martin, sister Noreen Martin; mother, Helen Martin; His children, Julia Rochon, Paul Martin, and step-son Vernon McCarty grandchildren, Lucas Martin, Kaden Rochon, Zoey Martin, and Kash Rochon; and his dearest long-term friends, Pat and Jenny Halliday. Larry was predeceased by his father, Fernard Martin; daughter, Lisa Martin. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation made in Larry’s name to Parkinson Canada.
