Obituary of Margaret Rose Ciesla

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Rose Ciesla. Margaret Burns was born in Unity, Saskatchewan, June 19, 1940 to Sophia and Henry Burns. Margaret passed away in Whitecourt, Alberta May 12, 2023 at 82 years of age. Margaret left North Battleford Saskatchewan moving to Whitecourt with her sister Doris, where she met and married John Ciesla. They recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Margaret and John eventually had two sons together, John Jr. and Alan whom completed their family unit. Margaret had a few jobs through her life, telephone operator, store clerk, hospital housekeeper. Although, nothing compared to her greatest joys in life; being a wife, mother, aunt and friend. Margaret filled those around her with love and always provided a safe and comfortable space for them. Margaret's love for roses and chocolate was only surpassed by her love for her family and friends. Margaret enjoyed visiting, each afternoon there was always coffee and cookies ready for the company who showed up. A long-standing open invitation for visitors was a great comfort to not only Margaret but to those around her. Margaret will soulfully be missed by her devoted husband, John; two wonderful sons, John Jr. and Alan; her sister, Phyllis Hay, numerous favourite nieces’, nephews and their families. Along with friends considered family; Don and Irene Gates, and many, many friends. Margaret is predeceased by her sister Doris Hay, and brothers, George Burns and Dave Burns. We would like to thank Dr. Rosko, the nurses and staff, along with Homecare at the Whitecourt Healthcare Centre for all the care and compassion shown to Margaret.
