Obituary of John Edward Van Oord

John Edward Van Oord March 30, 1958 – March 30, 2023 It is with much sorrow that we announce the passing of John Van Oord at Royal Alexandra Hospital on his birthday, at the age of 65 years. The storms of this life are over for John, he is at peace. John was a devoted family man and his family meant everything to him. He was a good husband, a loving dad, and a supportive brother to his siblings. His kindness was given freely to those that needed it; he took care of those he loved. He was supportive of his two children, was emotionally present and carried no judgements. John enjoyed camping and quadding, beginning with rough camping and ending with glamping. The days filled with family and friends in the mountains were great days. John filled his days with projects from building sheds, tables, and dressers to enjoying a cup of coffee at the River Rock to playing cards and gloating when he won. John was an honest man and will pass on his legacy of trust and integrity. John will be forever lovingly remembered by his daughter, Jennifer; son, Clayton (Crystal); sisters, Annette (David) and Marie (Gary); brother-in-law, Ivan Pfaff as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. John was predeceased by his loving wife, Ivy; brother, Conrad and parents, Jack and Elise Vanden Oord. A gathering in honour of John’s life will be held at a later date. John’s family would like to thank the nursing staff and Doctors at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for their wonderful and compassionate care during John’s stay.
