Obituary of "Jo" Mamie Josephine Grayson

Mamie Josephine Grayson (Dodsworth) November 5, 1928 – March 16, 2023 Josephine passed away peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side at the age of 94 years. Josephine is survived by her son, Richard; daughter, Janet (Dale) Holst, granddaughters, Tiffany (Thomas) Schoenthal, Brittany (Nicholas) Bidell, Steffany (Zach) Ottewell; great grandchildren, April and Ryder Schoenthal, Nathan, Lincoln, Paisley and Knox Bidell, and Sebastian Ottewell; brother, Dick (Enid) Dodsworth, and sister, Anne Seigrist. Josephine was predeceased by her husband, George; sons, David and Gerald; brothers, Jack and Harold and sister, Janet. Josephine was born in Sullivan Township, Ontario and was the third of six children to Harold and Janet Dodsworth. She went to school to become a Health Care Aide in Toronto, where she worked for a short time until she moved to Swift Current for work. She met the love of her life George Grayson and they were married July 1, 1960. Together they raised four children and moved frequently, until they moved here to Drayton Valley and where they called home. Josephine was active in the Legion for many years. Josephine’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Murphy and the nursing staff at the Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Center, also to the Shale Medical Clinic for all of their care and support of Josephine. Memorial contributions in Josephine’s name may be made directly to the charity of one’s choice. A celebration of Josephine’s life will be held, Monday, March 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #269, Drayton Valley, Alberta.
