Obituary of Linda Eva Throndson

Linda Eva Throndson 1948-2023 With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of a wonderful lady who was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, sister and friend. Linda Eva Throndson (Melin) passed away on March 12, 2023, at the age of 74 in Phoenix Arizona. The memories shared with Linda will be cherished and will last a lifetime for those who knew and loved her. Linda was born in Edmonton on June 21st, 1948. She grew up on a farm near Alder Flats where she shared many special memories with her parents and siblings. Linda remained very close with all of her siblings who hold a special place in her heart. Brian met Linda at a dance and swept her off her feet, they soon were married in 1970 and had two wonderful children, Rocky and Tabatha. They lived in Fort McMurray for several years before they relocated back to Drayton Valley in 1980. When Linda was 38 she went back to school to become a hairdresser, and soon after she ran a successful business in her own hair shop. Linda and Brian then became grandparents to 5 grandchildren who they adore dearly. One of the many fond memories that all of her grandchildren share is going over to grandpa and grandma’s to enjoy a movie night and a sleepover. Linda and Brian spent many years travelling with family and friends, enjoying their lives together. Camping, dancing, golfing, and spending time with friends and family were just a few of the pastimes that Linda enjoyed. Linda took great pride in her house and her yard, especially in planting and keeping her flowers immaculate. Linda and Brian travelled to Arizona, fell in love with the great community, and purchased a house in Suprise Arizona in 2007, where they were joined by many of their family and friends. Linda will be remembered as a beautiful and kind-hearted wife, mother, grandma, sister, and friend. Linda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Brian; children, Rocky (Cathy) and Tabatha (Warren); grandchildren, Peyton, Kade, Abrielle, Isabella and Emmercyn; siblings, Harley (Joan), Rita (Allen), Myles (Judy), Tammy (Dwayne), Penny (Ray), Audra (Al); brother-in-law, Gene; sisters-in-law, Norma, Carol (Ken), Della (Wayne); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and life-long friends. Linda was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Jean, mother-in-law Eileen, brothers-in-law, Paul and Derryl, and sister-in-law Diane. A celebration of Linda’s life will take place at the MacKenzie Conference Centre, 5737 45 Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta, on Monday, June 19, 2023, at 1Pm.
