Obituary of Greg Allen Havig

Greg Allen Havig February 26, 1959 – March 4, 2023 It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Greg Allen Havig on Wednesday, March 4, 2023 at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre at the age of 64 years. Greg was a man who had restless feet; his wanderlust would not allow him to stay long in one spot for long. He was always onto the next adventure wherever it took him. Greg loved to drive and cruise the open roads; he felt a sense of calm while driving. Greg was a social butterfly, a true conversationalist, he was non judgmental of people who came his way. Greg was the portrait of the genuine nice guy; he was always ready to lend a hand. His word was his bond, a man in a time when a handshake meant something. Greg’s memory will be remembered by his wife, Shelly; children, Michael (Ashley), Jamie (Nicole), Hollee (Shayne), and Aaron; grandchildren, Addison (Kevin), Keaton, Xavier, Zander, Avaya, Winston, Kada, and Karter; great-grandchildren, Ariella; his sister, Helen Holmes; his ever-faithful black labs, Bear, and Grit. Greg was predeceased by his parents, Melvin and Margorie Havig; siblings, Carol, Sandra, and Lenny. Greg’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Center for all their care given to Greg during his stay. As per Greg's wishes, interment will take place in Wetaskiwin Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
