Please share a memory of Phil to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Philip Owen Morrill (Phil) “Flying Phil” September 18, 1957 – March 8, 2023 “A trucker through and through; finally, get to hang those keys up, Hammer down Heaven bound” It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, dad, son, and grandfather, Philip Owen Morrill on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre at the age of 65 years. Phil was the definition of the outdoor man, hunting, fishing, camping, and quadding; doing all these things with family and friends was a great day according to Phil. Phil was a man who liked to tinker on cars and trucks, he had good intentions when he started a project; that earned Phil the nickname “half done” from friends. Phil had a strong work ethic, he loved to drive truck, he did try other things but the road called to him, and a truck driver he stayed. A family man was Phil, he loved his family deeply; his wife, his children and his grandchildren oh his grandchildren. He loved them dearly, Phil would call them weekly and sometimes daily just to chat. Phil cared about people, always one to lend a hand to all. Phil did not want people to know he had a big heart, from this he was affectionately called by a dear friend “Rough tough, cream puff.” Phil’s legacy and memory will be forever cherished by his wife, Bev (Babe); children, Keenan (Manda), William, Kevin, and Tyler; grandchildren, Amaraya, Xander, Azaleigh, William, Keisha, Kianna, and Brooklyn; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Emma, and Kingston; his dad, Douglas Morrill; brothers, Wade and Randy (Darlene), his ever-faithful golden retriever, Mugz; plus, his beloved four cats; and numerous extended family. Phil was predeceased by his son, Jordan; mom, Loretta Morrill; and a love hate friend Toni Felker. Phil’s family would like to express their gratitude to the EMS, Darren Kymta, and especially to Phil’s fellow co-worker who worked on Phil, for all their care given to Phil. Those that desire, can make a direct donation in Phil’s name to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
