Please share a memory of Ed to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edwin Albert Seniuk September 11, 1929 – February 27, 2023 Ed passed away very peacefully at the Drayton Valley Hospital in the presence of his loving wife, Audrey at the age of 93. Ed is survived by his wife of 40 years, Audrey French-Seniuk; children, Colleen (Marty) Schlager, Marde (Dave) Sharpe, Shelley Seniuk (Roger Tomlinson), Wendy Seniuk (Wayne Shalagan), Edwina (Dave) Anderson, and Michelle (John) Semerdija; his sister, Doris (Orville) Stark; sisters-in-law, Doreen Ross, and Verlayne (Maynard) Disrude. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Sophia and Anton Seniuk; siblings, Mike, Tess Kolodychuk, Nick, George, Pat Gawreluck, grandson, Jarret Anderson, son-in-law, Dave Hurd, sister-in-law, Carole Anderson, and brothers-in-law, Bob Anderson, and Don Ross and by the mother of his children, Leona Seniuk. Ed worked for Mobil Oil for 34 years, then consulted independently for 12 years before fully retiring at age 72. His work was one of his passions, as was hunting, fishing and being a strong advocate for Ducks Unlimited (as anyone who has ever received a gift from Ed and Audrey would know). One of Ed’s great accomplishments was fulfilling a childhood dream of going on an African hunting safari in 1995. Ed loved his children, grandchildren and close friends. In his later years nothing made him happier than to sit on the deck and have a visit with those he enjoyed most. The family would like to thank Dr. Gigg, the nurses and staff of the Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre, Homecare and the numerous paramedics who attended him, for their hard work and kindness through Ed’s final years. They would also like to express their gratitude to the staff at Value Drug Mart Pharmacy for their extraordinary service. Ed will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held on June 3, 2023, at the Whitby Community Hall at 2:00 pm. www.whitbyhall.ca Site 421, Box 1, Comp 7, RR#2, Drayton Valley, AB, T7A 2A2 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ed’s memory may be made to Ducks Unlimited Canada at supportducks.ca; or Ducks Unlimited Canada, PO Box 1160, Stonewall, Manitoba R0C 2Z0 or a charity of your choice.
