Please share a memory of "Dick" Gerald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
“Dick” Gerald Richard Badick October 20, 1939 – February 6, 2023 It is with incredible sadness that we announce the passing of a dear husband, loving father, amazing grandfather and true friend. Dick passed away at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre on Monday, February 6, 2023 surrounded by the love of his family. Though our hearts ache, we rejoice that he is now in the arms of his Lord and Saviour. “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4 Dick worked for ERCB for many years and in the oil and gas sector as a consultant for the last 10 years of his working career. A lifelong resident of this area, he was a man of wit and liked to joke. Dick enjoyed hunting, planting trees, and the sound of country music. Dick was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; his family was a blessing. A gentleman’s manner but a heart of the faithful. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Beverley; children, Holly, Jeri (Trevor), Stacee (Brad); step-children, Brenda (Grant), Amy (Todd), and Mark; grandchildren, Kim, Collin, Nikki, Anessa, Jessica, Jennea, Jennifer, Ryan, Lucas, Melissa, Nicole, Devin, Brendan, and Berkley along with their spouses and children to include 19 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Dick was predeceased by his daughter, Lorilei; step-son, Hugh MacLean; great-grandson, Nolan; his brothers, Roger and Carl; and his parents, Eva and George. Dick’s family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Dr. Van Staden and to the doctors and nurses who cared for Dick with compassion and the utmost professionalism throughout his illness. Memorial donations in Dick’s name can be made directly to the Wilberforce Project (Pro Life), PO Box 44121 Garside, Edmonton, Alberta T5Z 1N6. Funeral Services will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church 4401-50 Street, Drayton Valley, on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Kenton Penner officiating.
