Obituary of Brian Ernest Joseph Dixon

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Brian Ernest Joseph Dixon on January 16, 2023 peacefully at home with his family by his side at the age of 74 years. Brian came to Alberta from Saskatchewan and began a career in the Oil and Gas Industry. In 1978 he started his own business, Dixon Wireline Services and later D-2 Wireline Services. Brian had a great work ethic and took great pride in building his company and many friendships along the way. When Brian did decide to take a break, he loved to do so by enjoying it with his family. Family was important to Brian and he cherished the moments he spent with his wife, children and extended family. Brian loved to play cards and there was never a day when he wouldn’t be up for a game of crib with family or friends. Brian was a loving husband and a devoted father. The memories with Brian will be cherished for a lifetime. Brian is survived by his wife Terri; children Cory (Rhiannon) Dixon, Cheri (Derrick) Gomolchuk, Garett Dixon, Matthew (Keith) Dixon and Cody Dixon; grandchildren Brandon, Jenna, Abi, Jordan, Tannis, Taryn, Colter, Keeton and Terrick; siblings Terry (Ed) Yohemas, Lynn (Norman) Spooner and Rose (Bob) Ambrose as well as numerous great-grandchildren. Brian is predeceased by his parents Ernie and Anna May Dixon as well as his brother Bob Dixon. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church on January 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Benjamin Belgica officiating. The family would like to thank everyone for the flowers and kind words received and a special thank you to Dr. Halladay and the Alberta Health Service Home Care staff for all the kind care and support extended to Brian throughout his illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the Cross Cancer Institute.
