May, Andrea, Whitney and families. We were so very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was one of the most genuine people we have ever met. To love someone and then see them go is the most difficult thing any of us could be asked to do. May all of your memories bring you peace and comfort to your hurting hearts. God Bless you all.
With deepest sympathy

We are saddened to hear of the passing of our friend Bob Barker. For over 10 years, Bob served as a volunteer on the FCSS Board and represented the Edmonton/Evergreen Region as a member of the FCSSAA Board.
Bob was a kind, calm and quiet leader who played a huge role in the development of the organization that we are today. He was a great advocate for seniors and helped to establish the Senior's Wellness Program, now known as the ALIVE 55 Program. This program has benefited thousands of seniors over the years and it continues to be used by hundreds of people. This is just one of many examples of Bob's work in the community. In 2010, Bob was awarded the Alberta Seniors Service Minister's Award as a result of the great impact he had on seniors in the community as well as in the Province.
Thank you Bob for all of your many years of service and for making such a difference in our community. Wishing our condolences to May, his children, and the entire Barker family.

Sincere condolences to the Barker family. I was posted to Drayton Valley in 1996. I attended the United Church. Bob and May introduced themselves. They were very kind to me. They introduced me to their daughter, Whitney. She and I ended up playing soccer together in Adelaide, Australia. God bless the Barker family. May He be with you during this time.

Tom and Alvina Sperling wish to offer our condolences to May, Andrea, Whitney and families. We have known Bob for many years, having taught Andrea and Whitney and Alvina served on the Town Recreation Board with Bob. I still remember the days he offered his woodworking workshop, helping me to build some Christmas gifts. His patience with my few skills was kind. He touched many with his kindness and has left his community a better place.

I remember the many good times Joe and I spent with the Barker’s. Holidays together, Drayton Valley socials as well as the many hours spent around a fire at the acreage. These are memories I will cherish forever. Bob was a wonderful friend and will always be remembered as such. God bless you May, Andrea, Whitney and families.
