Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Patricia Ann Sas-Rivet July 9, 1960 – December 9, 2022 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden, yet very peaceful passing of Patricia Sas-Rivet. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Patricia passed away in the comfort of her home on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the age of 62 years young. Patricia was born in Calgary, Alberta to parents, Margaret and Thomas. In 1983, she married the love of her life, Gilles Rivet and together, they raised two beautiful daughters. After spending many years in Rocky Mountain House, they would eventually move to Drayton Valley where they built their dream home. Patricia absolutely loved their home, and would often comment “look at that skyline, isn’t it beautiful?” Patricia was an extremely hard-working woman who made lasting impressions; her loyalty, generosity, empathy and great sense of humor made it easy to love her. The addition of her two grandgirls allowed her to love even deeper than she thought possible, and spent as much time as she could with her family. She enjoyed spending holidays at the Fairmont Resort in Invermere and summers at Shuswap Lake, where she and her husband and brother owned property at the resort Caravan West in Scotch Creek, British Columbia. Christmas was her favourite time of year and she went above and beyond to create lasting memories with friends and family. She will forever be remembered as a master storyteller and the heartbeat of every family gathering. Patricia will forever be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gilles Rivet; daughters, Nicole (Bobby) Barton and Noelle Rivet; grandgirls, Brooklyn and Katelyn; brother, Chris (Gabe) Sas; niece, Gina (Nathan) Betker and their son, Nico; nephew, Tyler (Alycia) Sas and their daughter, Abigail and Evelyn; father-in- law, Roger Rivet; brothers and sisters-in-law, Micheline, Gary, Leo, Mireille and Maurice (Marvia, who was Patricia’s childhood best friend) along with their families, other extended family and friends. Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Margaret Rose O’shea and Thomas Robert Sas; great-grandmother, Annie Olsen; mother-in-law, Yvette Rivet (neé Labine) and brother-in-law, Herby Rivet. Patricia’s beautiful life will be celebrated from the Chapel at Affinity Funeral Service, 5001 45 Avenue, Drayton Valley on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Should friends so desire, memorial donations in Patricia’s name may be made directly to Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.
