Deborah “Debbie” Catherine Cooney-Mahon January 5, 1957 – December 4, 2022 It is with incredible sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of a dear wife, loving mother, amazing grandmother and beautiful friend. Debbie passed away at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre on the evening of Sunday, December 4, 2022, surrounded by the love of her family. Though our hearts ache, we rejoice that she is now with her treasured Lord and Saviour. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4 Debbie was always a true friend and a genuine caregiver. It brought Debbie so much joy to help others; be it cooking a meal or simply offering a listening ear, she could always be counted on. Even when faced challenging circumstances, her love of Jesus was evident in the way she treated others and continued to forge ahead. Her strong faith is what brings her family comfort and hope during these trying times. Debbie will forever be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ken Mahon; daughter, Colette; son-in-law, Daniel; grandchildren, Kyden, Christian, Ashton, Kealan and Denae; siblings, Pete (Sharon), Greg (Linda), Anne, Cathy (Norm), Gerard (Darlene), Bonnie, Tony (Karen), Brian (Beat) and Rose, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Debbie will be greatly missed by her Church family at Faithful Remnant. Debbie is predeceased by her daughter, Crystal; parents, William and Madeline and brothers, Joe and Tom. Debbie’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Joy from the Cross Cancer Institute, Pastor Jeff and Ali Gooderham of Faithful Remnant Church, Dale and Shannon Metzger and the staff at Affinity Funeral Service for their care, compassion and sincere friendship during Debbie’s illness and these difficult days.
