Obituary of George Stanley Elliott

George Stanley Elliott October 14, 1931 – November 17, 2022 On Thursday, November 17, 2022, George Elliott took his last breath of earthly air and his first breath of Celestial. His health battles now over, George is at rest in the presence of his Heavenly Father. Leaving to mourn his passing but celebrate his life and spirit is George’s wife, Joyce Karach; his children, Les (Diane), Bev and Bob; step-sons Wayne and Skip Karach and his grandchildren. George is also survived by his brother Floyd and numerous family and friends. George was predeceased by his first wife, Lorraine. George was born in Stettler, Alberta. George worked hard all his life in the Alberta Oilfield, where he worked rigs for many years until starting his own business, Valley Oil Field Services, which he ran until he retired. George joined the Drayton Valley Senior Centre, where he shared in the friendships and comradery while providing many volunteer hours and services. George enjoyed sports, especially fastball and was also fond of horses. Later in life, he especially enjoyed wood crafting, gardening and playing cards, especially crib. A celebration of George’s life will take place Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the Emmaus Lutheran Church, 4604 50 Avenue, Drayton Valley. The service will be held at 1:00 pm, and an interment will take place immediately following at River View Cemetery, Drayton Valley.
