Obituary of Roberta Ann Matthews

Roberta “Ann” Matthews (nee Sinclair) July 10, 1949 – October 29, 2022 It is with complete sadness for the family to announce Robyn’s passing October 29, 2022, at 73 years of age. Robyn’s heart was big, she loved her family deeply and was very proud of her grandbabies. Robyn had a passion for jewelry and antiques, also snowmobiling in her earlier years. Her love for curling never waivered, ice curling at the Peers rink and then in recent years, floor curling with her teammates at the Whitecourt Seniors Circle. Her love for dogs, hummingbirds, and working in her flower beds brought her tremendous joy. Robyn also enjoyed the holidays; she made the best pumpkin pie and stuffing. The clean up however, not so much. Spending quality time with her grandchildren meant the world to her. Robyn’s sense of humour stayed with her right to the end; as she would rest, Robyn would nod off and say, “Be right back.” Robyn is survived by Roy Matthews, her children, Randal (Erica) Matthews, Kelcy (Allen) Snow, Carolynn (Leon) Soch; grandchildren, Frank (Tristan) Nyitrai, Alyssa Soch, Derek Snow, Tyson Soch, Kaitlyn Snow, Kallie Soch, Maize Matthews; great grandchildren, Blake and Ellie; brother, Jim (Catherine) Sinclair. She will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Robyn is predeceased by her parents Red and Hazel Sinclair. The family wish to thank Sturgeon Community Hospital ICU for the care Robyn received in her final days. A memorial for Robyn will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the Whitecourt Seniors Circle, 5212 50th Street, Whitecourt, AB. Lunch and fellowship to follow. Interment will be held at Shining Bank Cemetery. If friends and family so desire, memorial contributions may be directed to the Alberta Lung Association P.O.
