Edna Marie Swap (nee Fry)
January 03, 1936 – September 22, 2022
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Edna Swap at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre on September 22, 2022 at the age of 85 years.
The family treasures the moments that are now memories of Edna’s life, and will always remember her love for laughter, her witty sense of humor and her good-natured teasing. Playing Crib, dancing, knitting and crocheting were passions she enjoyed. Edna always loved her time in nature and tending her garden, but her greatest passion and love in her life was always for her family and friends. She was a care-giver to so many, and her presence will be greatly missed, but her impact and inspiration will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Edna will forever be lovingly remembered by her children, Lori Malone and Holly Swap; her grandchildren Chris Maclean, Danielle Perry, Calvin Hlushak and Matt Hlushak; her great grandchildren Aria Fisher, Seth Hlushak, Charley Hlusak, Damian Fisher and Octavia Perry. She will also be forever treasured in the hearts of her siblings, Pat Boyd, Judy Sware, Jim Fry and Dennis Fry, along with many extended family and friends.
Edna is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Harmon Swap as well as her parents, Truman and Anna Fry.
A celebration of Edna’s life will take place at Royal Canadian Legion Branch #269, 5204 51 Ave, Drayton Valley, Alberta on Monday, October 3, 2022, at 1:00 p.m.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff at Seasons and to Dr. Mathrani and the staff at Drayton Valley Hospital, for all the kindness and care shown to Edna.
