Obituary of Pearl Paulette Scherger

Pierina “Pearl” Scherger (Procopio) February 28, 1930 – September 04, 2022 It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Pearl Scherger at the Drayton Valley Hospital on September 04, 2022, at the age of 92. Pearl will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children, Rene (Sandy), Dennis (Colleen), Wayne (Shiree) and MaryAnn (Jim); her grandchildren, Melody (Kristoffer), Stephanie (Jody), Christopher, Lindsey (Jeff), Katherine (Preston), Allison (Kurt), Nicole (Dallas) and Rebecca (Stewart), along with her 11 great-grandchildren. Pearl was predeceased by her husband Mike Scherger, her parents Stefania and Pietro Procopio, as well as her brothers and sister. While treasuring many moments that are now memories and thinking of all the stories of her life, the family will always reflect upon her love of being outdoors and walking. They will also remember her passion for watching her Soaps and listening to music. The memory of her beautiful smile and joy of laughter will always be with them. But beyond all these memories, it will be Pearl’s eternal love for her family and that will never be forgotten. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Frobb and the staff who cared for Pearl at the Drayton Valley Hospital. They also express their appreciation to those at Shangri La Lodge for the love, support and care that Pearl received during her residency there. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that a memorial donation in Pearl’s name be made directly to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, 119 14 St NW #100, Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6.
