Obituary of Lyle Harrison Combs

Lyle Harrison Combs July 30, 1936 – July 24, 2022 Lyle combs passed away peacefully in the company of his two daughters, Valerie and Vivian at his home on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at the age of 85 years. Lyle was born and raised in Rocky Rapids, Alberta. He was the only son of Floyd and Mary Combs, with four sisters. At the age of 24 he married Doris and went on to raise four children in a loving home near Rocky Rapids, always filled with family and friends. He was always on the move. When working, Lyle could be found behind the wheel of a gravel truck, or in later years, running back and forth to town in his VW visiting and sharing thoughts and stories with the many people in his life. He enjoyed driving fast and even faster on a snowmobile. He loved to spend time watching the Ski-Doo races in Wetaskiwin and watching wrestling on T.V. Lyle was a brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, uncle, great-uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed by all the people in his life. He has left behind many cherished memories from a life well-lived. He was especially thankful to see his great-great-grandson, Kash. Lyle was predeceased by Doris, his wife of 49 years; his son, Kelvin; his nephew, Terry; his two sisters, Donna and Lilian and his parents, Floyd and Mary In celebration of Lyle’s life, a Graveside Service will be held at Rocky Rapids Cemetery, Rocky Rapids, Alberta on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. with Dwayne Henley officiating, with a luncheon to follow at Whitby Hall. Special thanks to Valerie as his person health care provider during his final weeks, to his long-time family physician, Dr. Gigg, and to Vivian for her help and support.
