Obituary of T. Barry Harrison

Below is the Facebook livestream link, please copy and paste into a internet browser to view the live event https://fb.me/CelebratingBarryHarrison Barry Harrison May 29, 1932 – July 17, 2022 On Sunday, July 17, 2022, Barry Harrison, long-time resident of Drayton Valley and surrounding area passed away at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre at the age of 90 years. Barry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Doreen; sons, Bruce (Maureen) and Daryl; grandchildren, Emily, Patrick, Matthew, Reese and Cassandra and brother, Doug (Eleanor). He is also remembered by numerous relatives, extended family, nieces, nephews, and friends. Barry was predeceased by his daughter, Darlene; parents, WJ and Thelma; brothers, Allan, Wes, Blaine and Gordon and daughter-in-law, Maureen. Barry and Doreen moved to Drayton Valley from Manitoba in 1957 and Barry started working in the oil field at various jobs including tank truck driver, battery operator with Gulf Oil and finished with his own business, Tools Unlimited. Throughout those years Barry’s community involvement was extensive with the Elks, Masons and Shriners clubs including a few years in the Al Shamal clown unit. Leisure activities included curling, golfing, coaching hockey, cards, practical jokes and enjoying life at the family lake cottage. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the community of Drayton Valley and surrounding areas for making this his happy home since 1957. Barry’s life will be celebrated at the MacKenzie Conference Centre, 5737 45 Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Riverview Cemetery will take place immediately following the service. Memorial Donations for Barry may be made to the local Al Shamal Shriners.
