Obituary of Joyce Kathleen Jaworski

Joyce Kathleen Jaworski (Nee: Haggart) September 27, 1944 – June 8, 2022 Though Mom fought a brave battle with cancer she passed away peacefully with her children by her side on June 8, 2022. Joyce (mom) was born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, and was raised in Alder Flats with her parents John and Helen and her siblings Marjorie, Myrna, Eva, and Edward. Mom was a hard-working woman. She worked various jobs over the years which included bartender and manager, welding shop assistant and as a much loved Post Mistress (for 35 years) for Buck Lake and Alder Flats. Like her mother, Joyce was a very proud Legion member for several decades. Joyce loved growing flowers, gardening, picking wild berries and playing crib, especially when she won. She also enjoyed bingo, a good laugh, a good joke, a couple of cocktails and singing. Joyce spent many happy times with her dear friend Nellie going bowling, to casino nights and the gospel tent. Joyce was gifted at crocheting and was an avid reader. Joyce is survived by her children Gordon (Shelia), John, Doug, and Jolie (Stephen). Her eight grandchildren; Terrance (Kristen), Trevor (Kathy), Jordan, Andrew (Sarah-Lynn), Marie, Woodrow (Breanna), Casey (Shelby), Geramie. Five great grandchildren; Dustin (Bryanna), Juliann (Chris), Hershal, Haelynn, Deacon, and Jaxson. And two great great grandchildren; Theodore and Joseph. Joyce was predeceased by her parents John and Helen Haggart and sisters, Marjorie Miller, and Eva Gill. As per Joyce’s wishes, no public service will be held. A special thank to the Home Care nurses Marilyn and Heather as well as the palliative nurse Carol. In Lieu of flowers, a donation in Joyce’s name can be made to Cancer research or to The War Amps, which were both charities that were supported by Joyce.
