Obituary of Trevor Virgil Greene

Trevor Virgil Greene March 27, 1941 – May 30, 2022 It is with sadness that the family of Trevor Virgil Greene announces his passing on May 30th, 2022, in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 81 years. Trevor was a resilient and hardworking man who would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was always in a hurry to get the job done, but wouldn’t hesitate to put things on hold to sit down for lunch with family and friends. He knew that moments spent with them were much more valuable. Trevor took pride in the work he did. He enjoyed every moment spent on the Greene farm, with his cattle and tending to the garden. Trevor loved stories, even more when he was the one telling them. He was honoured with the opportunity of being interviewed for an article in The Whitecourt Star. He was able to speak about the hardships he had endured early on in life, how he persevered through injury, sickness and the cruelness of others, and how he never let any of it define his outlook on life. Trevor will be fondly remembered by his nephews Dwayne (Cindy) Barsi, their children Jason and Lucas, and Jerry (Holly) Barsi and their children Aaron, Nolan and Nicole, brother-in-law Leslie Barsi, as well as many close friends, neighbors and extended family. Trevor has now been reunited with his parents, Herbert and Vera Greene, brothers Tex Greene and Cuyler Green as well as sister Mona Barsi. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25th, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Westward Community Hall with Terri Shimenosky officiating. A luncheon is to follow the service. Trevor’s family would like to show appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses and Healthcare Staff at the University of Alberta Hospital and all the First Responders for the care Trevor had received, as well as to all his neighbours for the friendship they have shown over the years.
