Obituary of Susan Teresa Porter

Susan Teresa Porter February 18, 1958 – April 1, 2022 The family of Susan Porter regrets to announce her passing following a brief illness at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre on Friday, April 1, 2022 at the age of 64 years. For many years, Sue and her husband worked alongside one another operating Cando Oilfield Supply in Nisku where the atmosphere and the opportunity to meet so many people brought her much joy. When away from the office, Sue loved the time spent at her farm; she and Greig enjoyed many day trips out in the country, but her heart was for animals, with a special love for horses. Sue was also an incredibly crafty woman and always had a project on the go; this allowed her to reveal her artistic abilities. Sue will forever be loved and remembered by her husband. Greig Porter; mother, Elizabeth Schnitzler; siblings, Ron Schnitzler, Don (Sandy) Schnitzler and Cheryl (Mike) Slade; brother-in-law, Gary (Trisha) Porter; sister-in-law, Andrea (Gord) Chrenek as well as by her nieces and nephews, DJ, Sasha, Nicholas, Isabella, Jason, Sara, Emma, Jennifer and Layla. She is predeceased by her father, Donald Schnitzler and brother-in-law, Geoff. A private family graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Edmonton, Alberta. Many thanks go out to Dr. Joel Giddey, as well as to the Doctors and staff at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre and the Cross Cancer Institute for the excellent care provided; the care and compassion received by the family was top-notch.
