Obituary of Corinne Hands

Corinne Hands September 11, 1938 – March 11, 2022 With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Corinne Hands at the age of 83 years at the Whitecourt Healthcare Centre. Corinne was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, the daughter of Ernest and Mary Turner. She grew up in Edmonton, excelling in academics and athletics. Corinne graduated from the University of Alberta School of Nursing in 1961, and spent the next 30 years in the nursing field. She settled in Whitecourt with her husband, Don in 1968, where they raised their family, ran a successful business and enjoyed retirement. Corinne was passionate about her family, most especially her four grandchildren. During her retirement, Corinne was able to pursue her artistic side and left behind a legacy of beautiful watercolours and oil paintings. While she explored many countries through her travels with Don, Aruba was their winter getaway for almost 30 years. Corinne is survived by her Husband of 60 years, Donald Hands, sons Dave (Cindy) Hands and Tim (Marian) Hands, grandchildren Jachin, Joshua, Megan and Stephen, sister-in-law Judy (Anne) Ries as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Corinne is predeceased by her son Andy and sisters Joan and Carol. A funeral service will be held at the Whitecourt United Church on Thursday March 17th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Rita Milne officiating. Interment will follow at the Whitecourt Cemetery.
