Obituary of Stewart Roy McAteer

Stewart Roy McAteer January 16, 1957 – March 6, 2022 With sorrowful hearts we announce the passing of our father in his home in Drayton Valley, Alberta, on March 6, 2022. We were with dad as he passed and we are comforted in the knowledge that dad’s battle with cancer is over and he is at peace. Dad was 65 years of age and he will be lovingly remembered by all of us, his children, Jared (Anne), Melissa (Robert) and Ziya, along with Sadie, Stewart’s “best fur-friend”. Dad will also be remembered by his grandchildren, Hayden Dumas and Freya McAteer; his mother, Noreen McAteer and his siblings, Geffory (Kathy), Faye (Joanne), Sheldon (Simone) and Robert. There are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who will also hold Dad’s memory in their hearts. Dad was predeceased by his father, Orville McAteer; grandparents Edward and Hannah Lambert; brother, Vern McAteer; his uncles James, Lyle, Doug and Donald and his rodeo partner, Kenton Randle. It is with deep appreciation to our family, friends and co-workers for all their love, support and thoughtful words during this difficult time. A celebration of Dad’s life will take place at a later date.
