Obituary of Josephine Saar

Josephine Saar (neé Abbott) December 4, 1940 – February 23, 2022 With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Josephine Saar at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the age of 81 years. Josephine found immense gratification with nature and spent a great deal of her time enjoying the outdoors. She had a boundless appreciation for water, especially rivers, as they provided her with much calmness and tranquility. Beyond these pastimes, Josephine’s greatest joy was when she was enveloped by the special people in her life; her husband, children, family and friends. Josephine will forever be remembered by her loving children, Wade (Patti), Rod (Diana), Cory (Rina) and Darcy (Tammy); grandchildren, Lucas, Channing, Dusty (Aimee), Dane, Taylor, Whitney (Duncan) and Lucas; great-grandchildren, Sullivan, Sawyer, Jeremy, Dexter and Raelynn; brothers, Don and Larry; as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family and wonderful friends. Josephine is predeceased by her husband, Eugene Roy Saar; parents, Walter and Jennie Abbott; brothers, Eben, Roland, Zeb and George; sisters, Alice Abbott and Ann Crossland; and nephews, Blaine, Ivan, Antoine and Ryan and niece, Julie Thomas. A celebration of Josephine’s life will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Buck Creek Community Hall. Doors open at 12pm for viewing and visitation, with the celebration of life at 2 pm. There will be an open mic for those who wish to share memories. Meal to follow.
